Shane Weight Loss Camp New York at 302 Harris Road, Ferndale, New York.

My son loved the camp. In the first phone call he said he loved the food, loved the activities then burst into tears saying he hated it and wanted me to take him home. It translated to him being homesick but really he just didn't get along with some of the boys in his cabin, they'd already made friends and weren't really welcoming. I followed this up with staff at camp and Callie (leader of the girls) was sending me regular information of what he was doing and whether or not he was having a good day. This way I knew how to address my Bunk1 daily messages to him. He then befriended another councellor (ALANNAH) and she became an absolute blessing for my son. I hope Camp Shane New York keeps Alannah on forever, she was amazing in getting my son through day-to-day when it was tough for him. She then helped to turn it all around for him and he left loving the camp! It would have been great if we could get occasional messages from the children, but understand that maybe we don't in case they ask the parents to come and pick them up! :) Camp Shane was aware that my son was having difficulty in the mornings and evenings and put on more activities to keep him busy. Thanks a million to all the staff and the owners. Your camp has changed our World.
